Village of Cazenovia Comprehensive Albany Street Revitalization Program

In FY 2002, River Street prepared a funding application for the Village of Cazenovia to the Governor's Office of Small Cities (GOSC) for a Comprehensive Program under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The program application resulted in the award of $750,000 in CDBG funding to implement a Rental Housing Rehabilitation and Expansion Program, Albany Street Façade Improvement Program, and Infrastructure Improvement Program. The program targeted the Village's historic downtown commercial district. River Street provided technical assistance and guidance to the Village in addressing the overall administrative requirements of the CDBG program. Technical assistance specifically involved the development of operating guidelines and general management and administration of the façade restoration program on Albany Street. The façade program component is primarily designed to improve the appearance and enhance the economic viability of the Village's major commercial core.
