Monica Ryan, AICP, Principal Planner

Monica Ryan is a planner with broad experience in land use planning, economic development and policy analysis. Her responsibilities at River Street include comprehensive planning and waterfront revitalization planning, analysis of land use policies and drafting zoning ordinance language; detailed analysis of community wealth, labor and industry trends for economic development and retail market studies; underwriting for municipal small business loan programs; and grant writing.

Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Ms. Ryan worked as a legislative analyst for a member of the NYS Senate where she acted as a liaison between the member's constituency and statewide interest groups. She also researched and analyzed state policy and the state budget in the areas of education, economic development, local government, taxation and finance, energy and utilities, and transportation. Ms. Ryan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Siena College in Loudonville, NY and a Master of Regional Planning degree from the University at Albany.
