RESILIENT SIDNEY, VILLAGE OF SIDNEY, NY. River Street is project lead on a range of initiatives in the Village of Sidney, including developing Sidney’s new Comprehensive Plan, the model Sidney GreenPlain Project, and the recently completed intensive visioning process supported by The Nature Conservancy to Envision Sidney’s Resilient Riverfront. All of these projects aim to help the Village adapt to change and meet challenges with resilience.
ENGAGING OUR COMMUNITIES SAFELY. ONE MONUMENT SQUARE, TROY, NY. On Monday, November 5, 2018, the City of Troy hosted a very positive community meeting with a standing-room only group of over 100 people to discuss the emerging vision concept for Troy’s One Monument Square and the surrounding areas. After conducting an initial four-day public workshop process in June, PLACE Alliance and River Street Planning worked with the City’s Planning Department and a Project Advisory Committee, and consulted experienced developers, to refine the concept for a mixed-use project with a signature all-season civic plaza, civic hall and mixed use building, destination restaurant, two levels of parking and a 20,000 sf open-air community plaza with event space, viewing platform and a grand staircase connecting to the river. MAIN STREET POCKET PARK, TANNERSVILLE, NY. Congratulations to our team members at Place Alliance NY for recognition by the Upstate New York American Society of Landscape Architects with a 2018 Merit Award in Planning and Analysis. The award recognizes the Main Street Pocket Park our team designed in Tannersville, NY. The Hunter Foundation and the Village of Tannersville spearheaded this effort as part of a larger Gooseberry Creek Revitalization Strategy.
