We could not be more passionate about our commitment to help communities devastated by extreme weather to recover, including those impacted by Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee, and Hurricane Sandy. The courage, determination, and bold vision of the communities we have assisted are inspiring. Building on Long Term Community Recovery experience in the Towns of Prattsville and Union, and the Village of Sidney, NY we were a member of three four consulting teams assisting over 30 NY Rising communities. We are experienced in early post-disaster planning response. We know how to work in and with a community in crisis to develop a vision and housing, economic and community development strategies that enable communities to adapt and become more resilient to climate change. We are also expert in the evaluation of state and federal funding eligibility for recovery efforts and projects. Our team is a force behind emerging transformational projects including Prattsville’s Town Common Neighborhood with senior housing, health care and community center; the Village of Sidney Riverlea Farm offering replacement housing for over 100 families; Sidney Green Streetscape, a walkable, modern streetscape that very effectively manages storm and floodwater using green infrastructure; and Sidney GreenPlain – a 140 state of the art floodplain enhancement program using green infrastructure on a wide scale.  Please see https://stormrecovery.ny.gov/nyrcr/final-plans. Sidney Green Plan

Highlight: Sidney GreenPlain

Recognized as a statewide and national model of green infrastructure floodplain reclamation, the 140-acre Sidney GreenPlain is a high-capacity enhanced floodplain designed to protect surrounding neighborhoods, the Main Street core, and downstream municipalities from flooding. The GreenPlain will be a community and regional asset offering walking trails, wetland walks, interpretive signage, scenic overlooks, picnic areas, connections to a riverwalk, and active recreation park all within walking distance to Main Street and the Village’s small business base.
